Confidence in Christ

A wise women builds her house on a solid foundation, who is, Jesus Christ. She places her trust in Him in all situations. She knows that what may come in life’s storms; the foundation of her heart has been anchored in the hands of the Creator of all things. Her confidence is not her beliefs about Him, but in Him.  She knows that He will make good in all things. Her heart is thankful in all things.

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain

It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth.

Like the utmost heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion the city of the Great King.

God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress

When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together, they saw her, and were astounded;

They fled in terror. Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor.

You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish shattered by an east wind

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God:

God makes her secure forever. Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing live.

Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled

With righteousness. Mount Zion rejoices, the villages are glad because of your judgments.

Walk about Zion go around her,

Count her towers, consider well her ramparts, and view her citadels, that you may tell them

To the next generation.

For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Psalm 48

You see this tree; it is planted by the Rock. If you, who are like a tree that has been taught by Jesus, then you are like this tree, planted by “The Rock” Your branches will be stretched by life’s storms, and being stretched is not exactly comfortable. You will go through the grinds of ordinary living, without any gratitude from your family and you will feel at times that they are a bunch of ungrateful brats! That’s ok, they probably are, but if you trust in Jesus, giving Him thanks in everything you will find little sprouts growing under you. They will sprout like little trees. Your children will grow in wisdom and the knowledge of Jesus Christ as they observed your obedience towards the Lord by trusting Him in all situations. They will see your perseverance, and how you endure hardships with a grateful attitude. They will see your compassion towards them by pouring burning coals of kindness to them when they deserve a stone instead of bread. This means your husband too!

Yes, I understand that that man could get under your skin and a rock would be a good meal for him, but believe that Jesus can soften the hardest of hearts! He can make a bear like cuddly kitty cat! Then that would probably annoy you as well, so this is why we need to focus on Jesus, not man/woman! This is your journey!

They see the reflection of your heart. Let them see the reflection of Jesus through you in all situations. 2Cor.3:18: And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His Likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

2Cor.7. Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Each heart knows it own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy. So remember, what you think no one sees is reflecting right through you. Is Jesus’ Reflection shining through you?

Let’s Clean Your House

One day at the grocery store I happened to overhear a woman talking on her cell phone. She said she prays on her knees about 3 hours a day. I thought, “Wow, her knees must be killing her.”

Then I thought, “I wonder how clean her house must be. If she is on her knees praying for three hours and the rest of the day telling everyone about her prayer time, then where is the time for her calling from God, to glorify Him in her home.”

Again, I am not suggesting not to spend time with the Lord, but is He pleased when we spend out the time he gives us as the gift of motherhood or to be a good wife? Can’t we spend out our time in prayer while washing windows, or dishing?

Would he be pleased to show us how to be good wives, teaching us to cook up something really special for our family? How do you think your husband would feel if he walked into a nice clean house with dinner made and a smile for desert instead of a cranky old spider ready to tangle him up with complaints and worries?”

‘Ok, I am not going to press you to get off that phone or off the “Love-Seat. You know the seat you love so much, your hind end?"

“So you say, “I don’t have time to clean, the baby, the kid’s, the job, etc. etc. etc. Dread is really the root. If you dread doing anything, then my dear, nothing will ever get done. On the contrary, if you have time to talk for hours on the phone with a friend or just being a busy body, then you have time to clean your house.”

“Let me give you some suggestions, seeing how I am a great housekeeper, by the way you don’t see any bug’s laying around my web do you?”

“I don’t want to overwhelm you, so the first thing you need to do is sit in the Presence of the Lord. No, don’t go to him and ask for extra money to pay a cleaning lady. Don’t try to ask him to send his angels’ to clean for you; it’s not going to happen, I already tried that. But what he will give you is grace, peace and joy. I find that when I am in fellowship with Jesus all these blessings flow naturally. We work together in harmony and the job is done without dread.” Eccl 5
