Home Sweet Home?

“Of all spiders, the Black Widow is the most feared. The female’s venom is especially poisonous to people. Despite our reputation, we would rather escape rather than bite, unless we are guarding an egg mass or if we are cornered and pressed. The male black widow will not bite you.

After mating, the female sometimes eats the male. We only have to mate once in our lifetime, you know.

This is how we earned the name “Widow.” clip_image002

During the period shortly following mating and lying of eggs, the female black widow can be a little cranky and hungry. After this period, if he lives through it! Our mate will live quite comfortably, but on the other end of web.”

Does this sound familiar to you?”

“This is the attitude of a unwise woman. She weaves the threads of resentment by forcibly controlling her own circumstances. By her actions, she demonstrates the folly of placing confidence in her own emotions. Her foundation is not laid on The Rock. Thus, this is how she holds her family together. Instead of seeking the God of Wisdom in raising her children, she follows her feelings making cob-webs that will not hold nothing!” clip_image004

“For instance, when the little things someone does irritate you or hurt your feelings. The eyes of your heart turn away from the Lord and begin looking at others, subjectively turning the heart of God away from them and their needs. You then begin soothing your hurt feelings, focusing on past wounds. As a spider begins to spin her web, you too, begin spinning up past hurts and finding fault in other’s; pointing fingers and accusing where there is no grounds of such accusations. Just another egg hatched from a deceived mind and the folly of placing confidence in your own emotions, she will reach for something other than the Living God. I use to reach for the telephone, calling all the prayer warriors I could think of. Gossip is one tool God does not approve of. I am not saying that we shouldn’t ask for prayer. What I am saying is, if we know someone with a lose tongue, and then it is best to call someone that can keep confidence, like one close friend that fears the Lord. Proverbs 27:17 say: As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

I have a friend that never tells me what I want to hear, instead, she tells me the truth and believe me; the truth does hurt, especially when you have a self-righteous attitude! Proverbs 15:31 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.

Let’s read Proverbs 6:16 (There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him.

1. Haunty eyes/coveting what other’s have

2. A lying tongue/gossiping, about someone, like your husband?

3. Hands that shed innocent blood/condemning, judging where you have no business judging

4. A heart that devises wicked schemes/conspiring against someone in your thoughts, making plans for evil

5. Feet that are quick to rush into evil/rushing in like a flood to defend yourself

6. A false witness who pours out lies/condemning the innocent

7. A man who stirs up dissension.

The foundation of her heart begins to crack, and when the storms of life come the home in her heart is unstable and she is left sitting alone in the pit of self-pity.

“A foolish woman will learn the skills of masterminding her plots of destruction and take action. Sound familiar? Jezebel was strong willed, and forceful. She left no survivors in her endeavors. She seen what she wanted and she took it!

So, I would like to share with you in the lesson written in God’s Holy Word about weaving good things and how He feels about weaving webs of destruction.”

A wise women builds her house on a solid foundation, she builds from the foundation laid by Jesus Christ. She places her trust in Him in all situations. She knows that what may come in life’s storms; the foundation of her heart has been anchored in the hands of the Creator of all things. She knows that He will make good in all things. Her heart is thankful in all things.

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain

It is beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth.

Like the utmost heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion the city of the Great King.

God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress

When the kings joined forces, when they advanced together, they saw her, and were astounded;

They fled in terror. Trembling seized them there, pain like that of a woman in labor.

You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish shattered by an east wind

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God:

God makes her secure forever. Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing live.

Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled

With righteousness. Mount Zion rejoices, the villages are glad because of your judgments.

Walk about Zion go around her,

Count her towers, consider well her ramparts, and view her citadels, that you may tell them

To the next generation.

For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Psalm 48

You see this tree; it is planted by the Rock. If you. Who are like a tree that has been taught by Jesus, then you are like this tree, planted by “The Rock” Your branches will be stretched by life’s storms, and being stretched is not exactly comfortable. You will go through the grinds of ordinary living, without any gratitude from your family and you will feel at times that they are a bunch of ungrateful brats! That’s ok, they probably are, but if you trust in Jesus, giving Him thanks in everything you will find little sprouts growing under you. They will sprout like little trees. Your children will grow in wisdom and the knowledge of Jesus Christ as they observed your obedience towards the Lord by trusting Him in all situations. They will see your perseverance, and how you endure hardships with a grateful attitude. They will see your compassion towards them by pouring burning coals of kindness to them when they deserve a stone instead of bread. This means your husband too!

Yes, I understand that that man could get under your skin and a rock would be a good meal for him, but believe that Jesus can soften the hardest of hearts! He can make a bear like cuddly kitty cat! Then that would probably annoy you as well, so this is why we need to focus on Jesus, not man/woman! This is your journey!
