Allotment for Ephraim and Manasseh

Joshua 16

The allotment for Joseph began at the Jordan of Jericho , east of the waters of Jericho, and went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel. 2It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz).  crossed over to the territory of the Arkites in Ataroth, 3descended westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and  on to Gezer, ending at the sea.

4So Manasseh and Ephraim, the descendants  of Joseph received their inheritance. 5 This was the territory of Ephraim, clan by clan:  The boundary of their inheritance  went from Ataroth Addar in the east to Upper Beth Horon 6and continued to the sea. From Micmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it to Janoah on the east. 7Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and came out at the Jordan. 8From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Ravine and ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Ephraimites, clan by clan. 9 It also included all the towns and their villages that were set aside for the Ephraimites within the ineritance of the Manassites. 10The did not dislodge the Canaaites living in Gezerl; to this day the Canaanited live among the people Ephraim but are required to do forced labor.

Ataroth – Crowns, Diadems see: Is. 61

Bethel – House of God see: Is. 56

Beth Horon – see Joshua 10:10

Gezer – Portion, Division

(you can look up the rest, I’m getting tired)

Ok, so what does all this mean? First of all the Lord is our Allotment, Psalm 16:5 Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure. 6The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

The Lord Jesus Christ is our lot and our inheritance and only through Him, the fullness of God’s Spirit dwells in you.

Manasseh, Joseph says, "The Lord has caused me to forget the pain of my past. Although, God does not erase our past from our memory, He erases the pain, sins, the debt and the shame of our past, through the Atonement of the Cross, and it is only through the Atonement of the Cross of Jesus Christ, that is the unexplainable act of God. This keeps us humble enough to remember that anyone can be saved. When I remember how mean I was, it enables me to hope for the mean people God places in my path.

Ephraim, Joseph says, "The Lord has caused me to be fruitful in my affliction."

Have you had to spend time in the sick bed, or placed in a place that you dread, but surrendered to the Lord and did it with a joyful heart?  Well, rejoice, because you submitted to the will of God that you produced fruit for God! 1Peter4:12. Therefore during that time of suffering, Jesus was and is bringing more sons and daughters to God. Then you should rejoice, because the Lord had caused you to be twice fruitful in your affliction!

Now, Manasseh and Ephraim were born in Egypt and their mother was I believe to be Egyptian, so that would have made them unequally yoked. But Jacob placed his hands on Joseph’s children, and claimed them as his, therefore they too received the inheritance of God’s people. Psalm 87

As we are all born sinners, not belonging to God at all! Jesus, laid His hands willingly on the Cross and He was holding in His Hands our names when the nails were driven into His flesh. He claimed us as His, therefore God has made our lot secure in Christ, and we received the inheritance of His Holiness!

No man can come before God in his own holiness, he will be consumed with fire, and he will be thrown into the lake of fire. But by the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty has stretched out our faith by His Power to the borders written in this Scripture. Jesus said, "When I return, will I find faith?" I say, "Yes Lord, you will because it is through the faith You gave us first in hearing the gospel and believing in the One you sent."

At the end it says, "the Canaanites was subjected to forced labor" That means all those thoughts that were not of God has been placed under your feet. satin is now under your feet by the Authority of Jesus Christ. But that doesn’t mean satin can’t insinuate thoughts of accusations against your neighbor, or brother etc. It means that when he does, you can put him under forced labor by making him pay you back for what was stolen. You do that not by works, but by trusting Jesus Christ in every circumstance, even the ones that seem harsh.

From me, satin stole half of my marriage, so by the authority of Jesus Christ, he has to pay me back twice of what was taken! there is much more and believe me, I will be expecting payment in full measure according to the promise of our Father in Heaven, through Jesus Christ!  ( Joel 2) and Jeremiah 30.
