Does God see and hear all that goes on in every situation of malice talk against other’s, or the pointing finger of blame toward our family member’s, our co-workers, husbands, wives, children. Gossip is Gossip, and it is absolutely not acceptable in the eyes of the Lord, nor is it pleasent to His ears!
One day at our womens’ leadership meeting, one of the members was complaining about her illness. She has fibermialga. In my own heart, I arrogantly thought bad thoughts of her and began accuseing her of sin in my mind.
Isaiah 59: the Lord says, Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
2But your iniquities have separted you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. 3For your hands are stained with blood, your fingers with guilt. Your lips have spoken lies, and your tongue mutters wicked things. 4No one calles for justice; no one pleads his case with integrity. They rely on empty arguements and speak lies; they conceive trouble and give birth to evil. 5They hatch the eggs of vipers and spin a spider’s web.
Do you know that when I left the meeting I was in so much pain I could barely walk, and as I began praying to God for healing; He reminded me of the evil thoughts I had conjured up in my mind. Instantly, I repented and the pain was gone. The following week, before heading out to church, the Lord showed me in His word that if you have something against your brother/sister go and make things right before you take communion, otherwise, you will be drinking your own judgement. I paid very little thought to that verse, until communion was being prepared. I felt Jesus hand on my shoulder and He said, "Go! I jumped off my behind and went to that woman and confessed to her; and asked for forgiveness.
I found out latter, that she also went to another leader and asked for forgiveness, and other’s did the same as well, it was not only me, it turned into a domino effect, and we all became better friends with more compassion and understanding towards eachother’s weaknesses! The Glory of the Lord rested upon us and we were forgiven.
Take this not only as a warning, because God will avenge those who are mistreated, lied about, even when we think we are right. The Lord expects us to do what is right, even when we are the ones who are persecuted. Stand fast in His unfailing love and trust in Him, in quietness and trust is your strength, says the Lord.
O Lord, the God who avenges.
O God who avenges, shine forth.
Rise up and judge the earth;
pay back to the proud what they deserve.
3How long will the wicked, O Lord,
how long will the wicked be jubilant?
4They pour out arrogant words;
all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5They crush your people, O Lord;
they oppress your inheritance.
6They slay the widow and the alien;
they murder the fatherless.
The say, "The Lord does not see;
the God of Jacob pays no heed.
8Take heed, you sensless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?
9Does he who implanted the ear not hear?
Does he who formed the eye not see?
10Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?
11The Lord knows the thoughts of man;
he knows that they are futile.
12Blessed is the man you discipline, O Lord,
the man you teach from your law;
13you grant him relief from days of trouble,
till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14For the Lord will not reject his people;
He will never forsake his inheritance.
15Judgement will again be founded on righteousness,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the wicked?
Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?
17Unless the Lord had given me help,
I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.
18When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
your love, O Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consulation brought joy to my soul.
Thank you for giving me the gift of perfect love, the gift of Your Spirit, the lover of God and of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you Father, that in all situations you make things work for the good of those who love you.
Give to me the strength of your unfailing love and take away the lust of self vindication, the lust of self righteousness, and spiritual pride. Give to me the gift of mercy, compassion, and a gentle spirit. I am reminded of how mean I was toward you, when other’s are mean to me. I am reminded that You alone are on the Throne. When I begin thinking judgemental thoughts against anyone, Lord, I remember that Jesus is Lord and I am a sinner, saved by grace!
